PIAB opens production facility in Singapore

-- 1 February 2006

PIAB announced that, together with the opening of the PIAB Production Centre Pte Ltd (PPC) in Singapore, it has expanded its sales organization to include China and India. According to the company, the reason for placing a production unit in Singapore originated from a resolution of the board of directors, stating that increased sales to Asian countries and favorable experiences with suppliers in the area, plus the closeness to growing markets in China and India, were factors that could not be neglected. Knowing that Singapore acts as a hub in the region, with good infrastructure and a conducive environment, and with English widely spoken, made the decision easy, the company said.
“Now is the right time for the official opening of our Centre,” says Klas Öhman, General Manager of PPC. “We are combining this event with a Sales Conference for our people in the Asian/Pacific region to kill two birds with one stone. At the moment we are nine people at PPC but we will most certainly expand within a year or so.”
